On November 21, 2018, a cooperation agreement was signed by Ion Vinaga, President of the National Sports Fund of the Republic of Moldova (NFS), businessman, investor and founder of several national and international companies, and Eduard Ciobanu, President of the Association of Sports Press of Moldova (ASMP).

In partnership with the State University of Physical Education and Sports and the University Sports Federation, the National Sports Foundation will support and organize cultural and sports events to promote healthy and active lifestyle. As mass media and sports life promoter, ASPM assumes the coverage of these events in all sources of information.

Mr. Ion Vinaga noted that the NSF will support and encourage the participation of ASPM members in local and world class competitions. “Along with our efforts to increase interest in sport, we also come up with concrete measures to promote the sports press. We really hope and want all the victories of Moldavian athletes at the most fabulous European and world championships to be highlighted precisely by our local journalists,” Mr. Vinaga emphasized.

Mr. Eduard Ciobanu, president of ASPM, noted that the signing of this agreement could not have been more opportune in conditions when sports journalism in Moldova faces great difficulties. “Very few come today with a helping hand for sports journalists. Any national or international event must be reported from the scene. In this context, the assistance of the National Sports Foundation is considered to be a very valuable and timely one. We hope for fruitful and long-lasting cooperation,” Mr. Ciobanu stressed.
