A meeting between representatives of the Public Association “Global Aviation Forum” (GAF) and the Federal Agency of Air Transport of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation (Rosaviation), headed by deputy head Mr. Alexei Novgorodov, was held on August 12, 2019, in Moscow.
The GAF delegation included the Chairman Alexei Rogov, as well as Vice-Chairmen Ion Vinaga and Viorel Catana.
The parties discussed the potential cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Russia in the field of civil aviation.
Today the GAF sees its primary task in restarting Moldovan civil aviation and, in this respect, the rich international experience and practice would help and facilitate the implementation of this process.
“We support the creation of a platform to promote the national innovation process in the field of aviation with the aim of exchanging experience, training and retraining specialists (pilots and technical personnel), to provide a number of services in the field of emergency assistance – sanitary aviation, firefighting, protection of flora and fauna, as well as repair services for existing equipment. In this context, the organization of round tables and seminars on introducing and promoting innovative products and services is welcomed in order to keep abreast of all the world achievements in the field of civil aviation, such as, for example, innovations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from Canada,” Vice President of GAF Mr. Ion Vinaga noted.
In turn, the Deputy head of Rosaviation, Mr. A. Novgorodov, expressed readiness on the part of Russian specialized companies to promote their products and services on the market of the Republic of Moldova, Eastern Europe and the Eurasian Union.
The parties agreed to jointly participate in the Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum, which will be held in Chisinau on September 20-21. This international business event is gathering for the second year in order to discuss urgent issues of development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. It was first held in Chisinau in September 2018, more than 500 people took part in its work, including politicians and businessmen from Russia, Moldova and the EAEU member countries.
